29 September 1999 Contract signed between Aker MTW Werft and AIDA Cruises for the construction
of two new cruise ships, AIDAvita and AIDAaura.
11 January 2002 Keel laid for Aker MTW Werft 004 at their yard in Wismar, Germany.
7 September 2002 Float out of the dry dock and moved to the fitting out berth.
3 April 2003 AIDAaura is completed at a total cost of US $350 million.
12 April 2003 German-American model Heidi Klum christens AIDAaura in Warnemunde,
Germany.
8 October 2018 Start of her first world cruise, which lasted 117 days and brought her to 41 ports,
