Ovation of the Seas spent a week in drydock in China to make unanticipated repairs to her propulsion system.

The Southeast Alaska Pilots Association (SEAPA) partnered with Royal Caribbean International to conduct simulations and establish a set of safe operating parameters for Alaskan operations. Ovation of the Seas was the longest and largest cruise ship in Alaska at the time, and all parties involved were keen to ensure that the ship would keep her passengers and the environment safe during her cruises.
