Timeline

26 October 2012

Contract signed between Fincantieri S.p.A., the Italian state-sponsored shipbuilder, and the Holland America Group, for the construction of their largest ship yet.  Yard number 6241 would be delivered in 2016.

22 August 2014

The first block of yard number 6241 was laid down in the construction dock of Fincantieri's Marghera yard, in Venice.

March 2015

Koningsdam was floated out of the building dock and transferred to the floating out dock.

31 March 2016

The Holland America Group took delivery of Koningsdam from Fincantieri S.p.A.

20 May 2016

Queen Maxima of The Netherlands christened Koningsdam.

8 April 2016

Koningsdam set sail on her maiden voyage.
