Yard Data

Meyer Werft GmbH S.713

Timeline

12 June 2015

Contract signed between Meyer Werft GmbH and Odyssey of the Seas Inc. for the construction of yard number S.713 at a cost of 1,015,000,000.  This contract was dependent on parent company Royal Caribbean International's ability to finance the project.

1 February 2019

Steel cutting ceremony for S.713She included some of the design changes made for Spectrum of the Seas, such as the twin level dining room.  Additional changes were made, such as the inclusion of a lower deck of loft suites below the single-level aft-facing balcony cabins.  Her aft solarium pool didn't feature the glass cover of earlier ships, which reduced her internal volume and thus made her gross tonnage the lowest in the class.  This, along with her bright and neon tropical color scheme, prepared her for Caribbean and Mediterranean cruises, as opposed to the Alaska, China, and northern European cruises offered by her sisters.

The first block of S.713 was laid down in Hall 2 at Meyer Werft.
