Timeline

14 January 2014

A contract was signed between Meyer Werft GmbH and Genting Hong Kong, for the construction of a new ship for their Star Cruises brand.


29 July 2015

The first pieces of steel were cut for S.711, at the time tentatively named Genting World and still intended for Star Cruises.


3 December 2015

Leadership of both Genting and Meyer Werft oversaw the laying of the first block of S.711, now designated for a new brand (Dream Cruises) and with a new name (Genting Dream) assigned to her.


19 August 2016

Genting Dream was floated out of the construction hall at Meyer Werft, stern first.


12 October 2016

Dream Cruises took delivery of the $960,000,000 Genting Dream from Meyer Werft GmbH.


4 November 2016

Genting Dream set sail on her inaugural cruise.
